What Customers Say About Xbox 360 Rock Band Fender Precision Bass Replica:

This is one of the best additions to Rock band. But with this bass, when played like a bass via finger picking, it's a whole new music gaming experience. Normally when a group of 4 people want to play, someone gets "stuck" with playing bass. It's usually not as fun or interesting as guitar. Now I prefer to play the bass. If you like Rock Band, add this too your collection, you won't be disappointed.

Haven't tried it on guitar but see no reason why you couldnt. It's not that you are cheating in any way, its just more natural so long as it works for you.

This Fender bass is so much better than any of the standard guitars out there. Way bigger - so you don't feel like a total dork using it.

I had eyed this item for some time and finally got it and am so glad that I did. It did take me a night or so to get used it but the second time I used it I immediately jumped from playing bass on 'Hard' on Rock Band to playing 'Expert' without much trouble.

The split strum bar is great. I play real bass and between the split strum and the thumb rest you can really hold this and play it just like the real thing.

I can see it taking people that don't play bass a bit longer to really get used to it but don't give up - you will.

I bought Rock Band: Special edition back around when it was released and, sadly, had a hard time with the accuracy of the strum bar on the original Rock Band Stratocaster. You will find this is a serious improvement on the Rock Band Stratocaster, and works with all Rock Band games so far. The frets are now silent, though -- so forget the annoying clicking from the old Stratocaster. The strum bar "clicks" like an Xplorer or other Guitar Hero guitar -- very tight, very clean, very accurate strumming when I use it in a standard alt-strum style.

Anytime I needed accurate playing (aka playing guitar), I went to the Guitar Hero 2 Guitar Controller. Also during this time, I found that my accuracy improved with the old Rock Band Stratocaster when I "plucked" upwards -- literally flicking the strum bar up with one of two fingers, like I would my real bass guitar's strings. I typically play on Hard, and I have yet to find a passage that gives me this problem consistently. I added rubberbands, I tweaked buttons, I even modded it to use a foot pedal -- but I was never quite satisfied with its plastic-strum fidelity.

Switching to plucking with two fingers, I found that now I had to "press" the fret bar upwards rather than "flick." This was disappointing, but once I got the hang of spreading my two fingers apart a little more, it was easy and used very different muscles than alt-strumming.I have heard talk of a strum on one half the fret bar not registering if the other half is up -- I've found that if you make an effort to keep your presses quick, this is a rare problem. This also made playing a lot more fun.I had read about the Rock Band P-Bass being buggy, or inaccurate, or just not comfortable enough. None of this was true. The size is a little bigger, but still not markedly LARGE -- I don't see why anyone would have trouble, but it did take a little while to become accustomed to the slightly wider fret bars.

(Of course, on very fast runs like Chop Suey bass, I alt-strum).Bottom line: This guitar is worth the extra cash -- and with a USB extension, who cares if it's wired. :-)

Great buttons, excellent size. Lack of a whammy bar really hurts. I know it's a bass replica but even bass uses overdrive. This guitar does not work with Guitar Hero. If you are like me and play both types of games you will be disappointed.

the whammy bar or should i say knob is retardedly placed and hard to use mid note and so is the power knob but the over all look of it was kind of cool and the concept of the double strum was AWESOME.
